Hydrogen Article

We have written 03 articles to Hyfindr a Hydrogen knowledge sharing company connecting many hydrogen enthusiasts. Our articles are successfully published. The articles published are :

1. Cryogenic Hydrogen : https://hyfindr.com/cryogenic-hydrogen-storage-cryogenic-cooling/

Cryogenic hydrogen storage is a system to store the hydrogen in liquid form while achieving the temperature of about -253°C at 1 atm pressure. The reason behind storing the hydrogen at cryogenic temperature is its density which allows us to store more energy in small volume. But it is always a challenge to store the hydrogen at cryogenic temperature because of material embrittlement at such low temperature as well as hydrogen embrittlement. Some special austenitic stainless steels have shown good resistance against the hydrogen embrittlement at such temperatures, which has shortened the problem of embrittlement. Another challenge for cryogenic hydrogen storage is the insulation required at this temperature. Generally super insulation will be used for the insulation purpose which provides less boil-off. The super insulation is nothing but a multi-layer insulation (aluminum foil + fiber glass paper) in presence of below 1 micron vacuum which arrests the all three modes of heat transfer (Conduction, Convection and Radiation) from ambient temperature to -253°C.

2. Fuel Cell Humidifier : https://hyfindr.com/fuel-cell-humidifier/

In the operation of a PEMFC, water management is very important since proton conductivity of the polymer electrolyte membrane, which plays a critical role in determining the cell performance, is proportional to the hydration level of the membrane. A variation of relative humidity from 85 to 35% causes a full order of magnitude reduction of the protonic conductivity of Nafion from 0.09 to 0.009 Scm. So, a Fuel Cell needs to be hydrated. Access water causes diffusion of the reactant gases towards catalytic layers. This reduces the cell performance along with concentration polarization and mass transportation losses. To obtain high performance and good proton conductivity it is essential to maintain optimal water content in the membrane. This is achieved by feeding humidified reactant gases through a humidifier.

3. Hydrogen Refuelling Station : https://hyfindr.com/hydrogen-refueling/

Hydrogen refueling station is not much different from conventional station, but the difference is hydrogen is supplied at high pressure & it is extremely volatile gas, the connection between vehicles receptacle & pump must be watertight. Hydrogen is dispensed into vehicle tanks, for powering the fuel cell to generate electricity to mobilize the vehicle. The hydrogen storage tank is above the ground while the gasoline station is below the ground.

We are providing and undertaking complete basic and detail engineering services. We have well experienced design & drafting team.
