Rack Design & Analysis

FE analysis is performed to evaluate Max Load Bearing Capacity of Rack – Type 1 Bend Pipe. The FEA model consists of Channel and plates. Elastic method is used for evaluation of bearing capacity of rack. FE analysis is performed in ANSYS 2022 R1 workbench software and results post processing is performed as per IS 800 standard.

Acceptance Criteria
  • For this simulation 1.5 times factor of safety is considered. Compact design.
  • As per ISO 800 CODE, the allowable criteria for stress are as follow.
  • Max induced stress < 2/3*Sy.
  • For Rack plate = Thickness/2.
  • For Rack channel = L/360.
